Rules for Transient and Seasonal Campsites
We are a family oriented
campground. We are very serious about the reputation of our campground and our
slogan Where Happy Campers Go!! We care about our guests and want all of
our campers to have a wonderful and enjoyable camping experience. PLEASE be
considerate of your fellow campers.
Please notice our pet policies under #1. For the safety of our campers, dogs
found to be aggressive will be immediately removed from the campground.
RULES AND POLICIES
FOR TRANSIENT CAMPSITES

PETS/LEASH LAW:
Maximum two dogs per site. NO AGGRESSIVE BREEDS. No Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, similar breeds or breeds mixed with Pit Bull, Rottweiler or aggressive breeds. Barking dogs will not be tolerated. All pets are allowed to enter or remain in campground at management’s discretion. Loud pets are not welcome. Exotic, vicious or dangerous pets/animals are allowed in the campground. Birds must be kept inside camper at all times. ANY dog or cat that bites or attacks anyone will immediately be removed from the campground. Your guests are not permitted to bring pets and will be denied entry if they bring an animal. Your pet's droppings must be cleaned up immediately and disposed of in a tied up plastic bag. Pets MUST be attended to and kept under control at all times by a responsible person. Your pets must keep quiet at all times and must not bother neighboring campers. Pets are not to be left outside, unattended and must be kept inside your camper after 11 pm. No ropes or leashes are to be tied to trees or shrubs. It is mandatory that you keep your pet on a leash at all times. The leash cannot be longer than five feet. No pets allowed on or near beach, playground or recreation areas. Pets are not allowed to be in any of the campground buildings, lake or pond. Dogs must have current rabies vaccination tags displayed on their collars at all times.

ENTRANCE SECURITY GATE ACCESS CARDS/DEPOSIT:
The entrance gate will be closed and locked when the office is closed. If you
need to enter after office hours, you are required to request a gate access
card for a $20 refundable security deposit. You are strictly prohibited
from allowing anyone to use your gate card for the purpose of allowing your
guests to enter the campground to avoid paying the guest visitors fee. Any
violation of this policy will result in your gate card being taken from you and
your deposit will not be refunded.

CAMPING LICENSE:
You occupy your campsite space under a revocable license. Management reserves
the right to revoke this license at any time without a refund for conduct which
the management believes jeopardizes the safety of other campers and/or is
harmful to the proper operation of the campground.

TRANSIENT CAMPSITE USE:
The campsite is for the use of the camper's primary family with two
adults/parents and dependant, unmarried children (under age 21) still living at
home. If campsite is occupied or being used, one of the primary registered
campers, 21 years or older, must be present.

AGE REQUIREMENT:
Campers MUST be 21 to rent a campsite. ID required for all campers. Management
reserves the right to refuse admittance.

CAMPSITE LOCATION:
You must stay on the campsite selected at check-in, unless officially changed
in the office.
- CAMPSITE PARKING
Your RV’s tongue/front must be facing the road. This is a local fire department ordinance requirement.
- RESERVATION DEPOSIT:
Required to guarantee site availability. Your deposit will be refunded in full if you cancel within seven days prior to your arrival date. Any nonrefundable deposits can be applied to future camping. Full payment required for Halloween and holiday weekends.

CHECK IN/OUT TIME:
Check in/out time is 12 pm. If your campsite is not occupied or reserved, you may come as early as you like and stay as late as you want. No additional charge. If another camper is checking in on your campsite on your departure day, you are welcome to park your camper near the office and enjoy the rest of the day, please make arrangements with the office. Registration office opens at 9 am.

EXTENDED STAY:
If you wish to extend your stay, please come into the office before 12 pm on your checkout date to renew. If your campsite has no prior reservations, we will gladly extend your stay.

OFFICE/STORE/REGISTRATION HOURS:
Monday through Thursday 9 am to 6 pm, Friday and Saturday 9 am to 9 pm, and Sunday 10 am to 5 pm. Memorial Day through Labor Day, office open until 10 pm on Friday, Saturday and holiday weekends. The office/store will be closed Monday through Thursday between 1 pm and 2 pm for lunch. No registration after 10 pm. If arriving after 10 pm, please call during office hours to make arrangements in advance.

If you need assistance please call the office at (517) 546-2679 after store/office hours please use the outside telephone on the office wall facing Burkhart Rd. or the phone on the front of the recreation building. There is a list of contact numbers on the inside of the phone box door. Call Alan Taylor at (586) 489-0360 or Dave Smith at (517) 404-3025.
- CONDUCT / HELP LINE: PLEASE follow directions and treat all campground staff and security with respect. If you have an issue that you don't feel has been addressed or solved properly by the campground employees, please call Alan and Linda Taylor (owners) at (586) 489-0360 for an immediate solution.

EMERGENCY:
In an emergency, contact the operations manager at 517-546-2679 or call 911. You may also contact Alan Taylor (586) 489-0360 or Dave Smith (517) 404-0325.

GUESTS/VISITORS:
All guests must come into the office and be identified and registered. Entering without registering will be considered trespassing on private property and you will be subject to immediate removal and prosecution. Campers are responsible for their guests. Guests must pay the current entrance fee per person, per day/night. Children, ages two and under, will be admitted for free. Overnight or seasonal campers caught assisting their guests to enter the campground without paying and registering, will risk having their camping license revoked. All daily visitor guests MUST be out of the campground by 10:30 pm. No guests will be permitted into the campground after 9:00 pm, unless they are staying overnight. Daytime non-camping visitors MUST exit the campground promptly by 8 pm. Camper visitors must exit campground promptly by 10:30 pm unless the $5 overnight camping fee has been paid prior to office closing hours, visitor’s car pass must be displayed with date facing outward from rear view mirror.

PARKING:
Please park on your own campsite. Only one car permitted per site. Additional guest parking is available in designated parking areas. All vehicles, including your guests, are required to display an entrance pass in clear view. Additional vehicles will be permitted to unload and drop off passengers at your campsite. Campers on sites #57 thru #61 are permitted to park as close as possible along side of the split rail fence next to the picnic area.

PROPERTY DAMAGE:
Property damage to our campground is cause for IMMEDIATE EVICTION. Malicious
and willful destruction in any part of the campground will be grounds for
eviction and prosecution. Management reserves the right to have anyone vacate
the campground at any time. Many of our rules fall under our strict, no
tolerance policy and if violated, you will be instructed to leave without a
refund.

PROFANITY/DISTURBANCE/THEFT:
Decent language is required at all times. Foul language and/or loud obnoxious
behavior shall not be permitted. Anyone creating a disturbance or caught
stealing will be instructed to leave the campground and may be subject to legal
prosecution.

QUIET HOURS:
Quiet hours are from 11 pm to 9 am and are strictly enforced! NO parties
between these hours PLEASE! Noisy campers are never welcome. Quiet means
surrounding campsites cannot hear you. Outside radios/speakers/TVs MUST BE
TURNED OFF! Musical instruments may not be played.

GENERATORS/LOG SPLITTERS/CHAIN SAWS:
Generators are not to be run at anytime with the exception of a power outage.
Log splitters and chain saws are not permitted in the campground.

CAMPERS/RVs:
Campers/RVs must be kept at least a minimum of four feet away from the electric pedestal, storage shed and existing campers. Only one camper allowed per campsite. Camper/RV tongue/hitch must be facing toward the road; this is a fire ordinance requirement.

CURFEW/PARENTS/GUARDIANS:
Parents/Guardians are responsible for their children's behavior and actions at
all times. Please ensure they understand and comply with all rules and
policies. Children are not allowed to be alone in the campground without a
parent or guardian. Children and teenagers must be on their site from 10:30 pm
(curfew) to 8 am with adult supervision. Exceptions include: special
entertainment events, staying overnight at a friend's campsite or accompanied
by an adult.

PARENTS/CHILDREN/TEENAGERS:
Please be aware and know where your parents/children and their friends are at all times. DO NOT allow them to run through occupied campsites, between campers or to play in the restrooms. To ensure your children's safety, we ask that you are aware of your children's activities at all times.

CLOTHING:
Proper clothing suitable for a family campground needs to be worn at all times.
Thong bathing suits are not permitted. No shirt, no shoes, no service in the
camp store.

SWIMMING:
Beach/swimming closes at sunset. Absolutely no swimming after dark or across the lake. Swim at your own risk. NO LIFEGUARD ON DUTY. NO DIVING. An adult must accompany children 12 and under while swimming. Water raft limited to a maximum of 10 people, no rocking swim raft or water slide (shallow swim area water slide limited to ages 12 and under only). Only one person allowed on water side at one time, no standing on water slide platform.

FISHING:
Fishing is not permitted in the swimming area by the beach.

BOATS/OUTBOARD MOTORS:
Boats are not permitted in the swimming areas or in front of the beach. Rental boats are provided; campers are not allowed to bring their own boats or personal watercraft into the campground area.
Outboard motors over 15 horsepower are not permitted on row boats. Boats cannot be used within 75 feet of the swimming/raft area. All boats must be off the lake before dark.

MESSAGES:
We will only deliver emergency messages.

SPEED LIMIT/VEHICLES/GOLF CARTS:
Drive slowly! The campground speed limit is 5 mph. Please keep a minimum distance of 20 feet away from campers, bikes, rental pedal carts and golf carts. We ask that you walk and try to avoid driving your vehicle throughout the campground. No cruising the campground. Remember children are playing. Driving in the campground after 11 pm is not permitted except for newly registered campers going to their campsite for set-up, campground employees or in an emergency. All golf carts and scooters must be returned to your campsite prior to 11 pm. Day and overnight guests are not permitted to bring or operate any unlicensed motorized vehicles in the campground.

BICYCLES/RIDING TOYS:
Bicycles and riding toys are not allowed to be ridden after dark. Do not ride or walk on or through occupied or vacant campsites. Please keep a distance of a minimum of 20 feet away from cars and campers.

NOT ALLOWED IN CAMPGROUND: Firearms/weapons, drugs, marijuana and fireworks are strictly prohibited! Pellet, paint ball, BB guns, bows and arrows, gas engine golf carts, gas engine scooters, mini-bikes, mopeds, go-carts or ATVs are NOT PERMITTED in the campground.

MOTORCYCLES:
Motorcycles are not permitted in the campground unless you are a seasonal
camper.

JOY RIDING:
Joy riding on campground property is not permitted. All vehicles, including
golf carts, may be driven only on campground roads.

CLOTHESLINES:
Clotheslines are prohibited. Do not attach/nail anything to our trees or
shrubs.

COMMERCIAL BUSINESS OPERATION:
This is a campground and commercial business is not permitted.

ALCOHOL/GLASS BOTTLES:
You MUST be 21 to drink alcohol in the campground. Please keep in mind that this is a family campground. Drunken behavior will not be tolerated. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed in any campground buildings. No drinking permitted while in the water or on water recreation equipment. Please keep glass bottles on your own campsite.

CAMPFIRES/FIREWOOD:
The campground store has firewood for sale. Michigan law prohibits you from
bringing in your own firewood unless you can show proof that it came from
Livingston County. We will require the name, address and phone number of the
property owner where the firewood was acquired. Firewood must be stacked neatly
and kept five feet away from campers or sheds. DO NOT cut wood from any of our
trees or bushes. Please confine your fire to the fire pit area only. Do not
build a fire on any grassy area. Fires must be attended to at all times and
remember to put your fire out completely before you go to bed or leave your
campsite. Please do not burn garbage.

GARBAGE DISPOSAL:
All garbage must be tied up in plastic bags and deposited in the bulk refuse dumpsters located on the north side of the main entrance driveway. If dumpster is full please don't over fill, use the next available dumpster to avoid trash bags falling on the ground. Please do not leave your garbage on the ground next to the dumpsters or outside at your campsite. We will not dispose of your large items, BBQ grills or refrigerators. Please do not put any hot coals or any burning items in the dumpsters or trash barrels. Do not place lawn waste or tree branches in the dumpsters. See management for instructions.

RESTROOMS:
Please help us keep them sparkling clean. Do not leave paper towels or toilet paper on the floor. No dishwashing, clothes washing or foot washing in sinks. Please don't go into the restroom/shower building to wash off beach sand; it really makes a mess and is very bad for the septic system. Please use the heated outdoor beach shower located at the end of the split rail fence on the east side of the beach. Pets and smoking are prohibited in the restrooms. No dumping port-a-potties in restroom toilets; use dump station near office. No wet bathing suits in restrooms or buildings; please dry off prior to entering. Accompany and stay with all children 7 and under using the restrooms or showers.

NO SMOKING:
No smoking is permitted in the office/store, recreation game room building, the
Port-A-Johns or restrooms. DO NOT throw your cigarette butts on the ground or
on the beach. Dispose of properly. This inconsiderate practice can burn a
camper's bare feet and makes our beautiful campground look dirty.

LITTER BUG:
Don't be one. Trash on the ground and in the lake looks very unattractive to
you and other campers. We are very proud to provide you with clean and
attractive surroundings. PLEASE HELP us keep Taylor's Beach Campground one of
Michigan's most beautiful campgrounds. Thank you in advance for your
cooperation.

LAUNDRY/RECREATION BUILDING:
For your family's protection and ours, this building is being video recorded 24 hours a day. The game room is being monitored at the campground office. NO hanging out on the building balcony or around the restroom building after 11 pm. The laundry facility has the same hours as the office. The recreation room opens between 9-9:30 am and closes between 10-10:30 pm. Recreation room hours may vary, if closed, contact the office.

SPORTS/GAME EQUIPMENT:
We will provide equipment for your use at no charge. Your driver's license or a
deposit will be required until the equipment is returned to the office. You
will be responsible for the replacement cost if the equipment is not returned
or is damaged.

GOLF CARTS/FUN BIKE PEDAL CART RENTALS:
All rental equipment is required to be returned to the office 1/2 hour prior to closing hours. Any rough use of rental equipment, even if not damaged, will result in the loss of deposit. If rental isn't returned on time, the additional usage time will be deducted from your deposit. Rental damages are not limited to your security deposit; you're responsible for all repair costs caused by misuse. Please keep rentals a minimum of 20 feet away from cars and campers.
- HALLOWEEN WEEKEND SAFETY:
Cars, golf carts, scooters, fun bike pedal carts or bikes are not allowed to be used in the campground during trick or treating. Please check with the office or check the bulletin board on the recreation building for times.

PLAYGROUND/BEACH/DOCKS:
No hanging out on the playground, beach, picnic tables or docks after 10:30 pm.

HOLDING TANKS:
Holding tanks may be discharged at dump stations located on the south side of
the exit driveway. There is no charge for this service.

HORSESHOES:
: Horseshoes are not permitted on transient campsites. Please use designated horseshoe pits located across from site number 188.

PICNIC TABLES:
Only one table per campsite. If additional tables are required for your guests,
please contact the office. If we have extra tables available, we will do our
best to provide one for you.

GRAY/BLACK WATER:
Do not drain directly on the ground or into the stream, pond or lake. Please
use a suitable closed/sealed container and dispose of your gray water at the
dump station. We provide mobile pump out service to your campsite for a $10.00
fee. The use of proper toilet chemicals is required for the pump-out machine to
operate properly. Chemicals are sold at the camp store.
RULES AND POLICIES
FOR SEASONAL CAMPSITES

NEW LEASE AGREEMENT/SEASONAL CAMPSITE LICENSE:
Effective Nov. 1, 2005, all seasonal tenants and their spouses must read and
sign a revised lease agreement prior to using your campsite in the 2006 camping
seasons.

PERMANENT STRUCTURES:
No additions, sun/screen rooms, docks, fences, storage sheds or decks are
permitted without prior management approval of plan drawings. Certain
restrictions and requirements will apply. Only attractive quality-built
projects will be considered.

STORAGE SHEDS:
Effective Jan. 1, 2006, only sheds made of vinyl or aluminum are permitted,
with a maximum size of 10 by 10 ft. If you installed a wood shed prior to Jan.
1, 2006, you must keep it properly maintained and painted. Only one shed
allowed on campsite. The fire marshal and the State Of Michigan require sheds
to be kept a minimum of 4 feet away from your camper and your neighbor's
camper.

GOLF CARTS:
You must be a seasonal camper, licensed driver and age 21 to operate a golf
cart in the campground. Golf carts may carry only the number of persons to for
which the cart was designed, and all persons must be seated at all times while
it is in motion. Lights, both front and rear, must be on if operating the golf
cart after dark. All golf carts must be registered at the office, and owner
must provide proof of $100,000 liability insurance before the golf cart can
enter and/or be operated on the campground. All golf carts must display a
seasonal permit obtained from the campground office. To control noise
pollution, effective Nov. 1, 2005, gasoline-engine golf carts are not
permitted. Only electric, battery-powered carts will be approved. Any seasonal
tenant that had a gas engine golf cart in the campground prior to Nov. 1, 2005,
will be permitted to operate it until such time that it is replaced. Do not
park on or near the beach, playground, recreation or picnic areas. Failure to
abide by the regulations may result in driving privileges being suspended
and/or permanent removal of the golf cart from the campground. Please follow
additional golf cart rules referred to in rule number 26 in the campground
rules

MOTORCYCLES:
Motorcycles are only allowed to be driven the shortest route directly to your
campsite and directly out of the campground. No cruising the campground! PLEASE
start at idle speed and operate the motorcycle as QUIETLY as possible. Do not
drive/start your motorcycle before 9 am or after 11 pm.

FIREWOOD PILES:
Only 1 cord of firewood is permitted to be stored on your campsite at a time.
Please do not stack woodpiles over 3 feet high, and elevate the pile at least 6
inches off the ground to avoid rodents. The fire marshal requires firewood to
be kept 4 feet away from campers and sheds.

TARPS/COVERS/CARPET:
To help keep the campground looking nice, please avoid using tarps during the
camping season Apr. 1 through Oct. 31 with the exception of attractive patio
furniture covers. Torn tarps will not be permitted.

CLUTTER/MESSY SITE:
Please do not pile up your belongings around your camper or storage shed where
they can be seen. Only a minimal number of items may be stored out of sight
under your camper. Utility or boat trailers are not permitted (a storage area
is available for a fee if needed). Carpeting under the awning area of the
camper is allowed but should not cover grass beyond the awning. Unsightly
clutter will not be permitted. If we have to clean up your site and remove
debris, you will be charged.
- WET CAMPSITES/GROUNDS: Don't drive on campsites, grass areas or roads if the conditions are wet. You MUST park to the left across from the office and walk to your site if the roads and/or grounds are too wet to drive on. Walk down to your site first and check out the grass parking areas. April and early May can be extremely wet and if you drive on the grass you will cause ground damage and ruts. If you cause ground damage you will be charged $75-$150 for repairs.

LAWN/SITE MAINTENANCE:
You are responsible for maintaining your lawn. Please cut it often enough to
keep your campsite looking attractive. For your convenience, we will provide
you with a lawn mower to use at no charge or you can arrange to have our
maintenance personnel cut your grass for you for a reasonable fee. If you have
bare spot areas on your site, please let us know. We will plant grass or
provide you with grass seed to repair your lawn. Please be aware that if your
campsite becomes neglected, you will be charged for site maintenance.

AIR CONDITIONERS/ELECTRIC HOT WATER HEATERS:
Air conditioners or water heaters are not permitted to be left on when you're not returning back to your camper on the same day, please make sure they are turned off prior to leaving.

WINTER STORAGE:
If you're not storing, your camper must be removed from the campsite by October 31. The winter storage season is from November 1 thru March 31, the campground is closed during this time and all water and electricity will be shut off. If you would like to come out to check on your camper you must call Dave Smith at (517) 404-3025 by 10 am the day before you plan to arrive. If Dave is available he will turn your power back on during your stay. Please call Dave to inform him when you're leaving.

WINTER CAMPING USAGE:
We will be monitoring which seasonals are using their campers during the storage season. If you are going to be using your camper more than a few times during the storage season you will be charged $100 for winter season electric usage, if you are on a metered site you will be charged the metered rate or $100 whichever is greater.

DIGGING:
Please don't dig or place anything into the ground unless you have had Dave Smith or Alan Taylor come to the campsite to approve the location. There are underground electric wires, satellite TV and water lines on the campsite that may be cut.

BOATS:
Due to overcrowding the lake shoreline, private boats are no longer permitted to be brought into the campground as of September 1, 2009. If you have a boat it must be marked with your last name and site number or it will be removed. Boats must be turned over when not in use and rain water must not be left to accumulate in the boat. Seasonal campers can use the rental row boats at no charge, please show ID at the office to verify that you are a seasonal camper.

CAMPER AGE LIMIT:
All campers/RVs 10 years of age or older must be inspected by management and
approved prior to renting or renewing a seasonal campsite. Campers/RVs in poor
condition may not be approved to rent or renew a seasonal campsite. Photographs
will be required for approval.

CAMPER MAINTENANCE:
Please take care of your camper. You are required to keep it looking good!
Paint it, repair it, wash and wax it to ensure your camper is in good
condition. Our maintenance personnel will be happy to assist you with handyman
projects or repairs for a very reasonable fee.

MOBILE PUMP-OUT SERVICE:
Sewage pump-out service calls will be made on a weekly basis on Mondays
(Tuesdays following Memorial and Labor Day). Due to the varying needs of
seasonal campers you are asked to call the office at 517-546-2679 or stop by
the office prior to Monday at 9:30 am to request a weekly pump-out service
call. The use of proper toilet chemicals is required for the pump-out machine
to operate properly. The pump-out service charge is $10.00.

ELECTRIC POWER CORDS:
Do not bury electric cords or wires underground unless you are using approved
underground rated wire.

PICNIC TABLES:
You are required to provide your own picnic table. The tables owned by the
campground are to be used for special events, the picnic areas and transient
campsites. Please do not take tables from other campsites.

PROOF OF OWNERSHIP/INSURANCE:
We require a copy of your registration and proof of insurance for your camper.

LENGTH OF STAY:
The seasonal rate does not permit you to live or stay in your camper for extended periods of time, you are only allowed to use the seasonal site on weekends, an occasional weekday or a one or two week vacation during the camping season of April thru October. Violation of this policy will result in additional charges of $300 for an extended stay fee or monthly camping rate charges based on management’s discretion.

SEASONAL CAMPSITE USE/VISITING GUESTS:
Your campsite is only permitted under the terms and conditions of your seasonal
rental agreement for the use of the tenant's primary family with two
adults/parents and dependent, unmarried children (under age 21) still living at
home. The primary tenant may bring in up to four grandchildren without paying
the visitor's charge. Any other guests using your camper must register at the
office and pay the current guest visitor and/or overnight camping fees. If the
campsite is occupied or being used, one of the primary registered tenants or an
adult authorized by the primary tenant, 21 years or older, must be present.

FREE VISITORS PASS:
Seasonal tenants will be given four free visitor passes at the beginning of
each new camping season. One pass per vehicle will be valid for one daily
and/or overnight visit.

REFUND POLICY:
Read number 1 and 2, under campground rules and policies. If you decide to move
out for any reason during the seasonal camping period of Apr. 1 through Oct.
31, you will not receive any refund for the season. Renewal deposit will not be
refunded if your cancellation request is not received and postmarked prior to
Feb. 1. You will receive a refund for the on-site winter storage charges that
you have paid.

SITE RENTAL DEPOSIT/RENEWAL:
New, seasonal campers will be required to pay a $350 deposit to secure and
reserve a campsite. Existing seasonal campers must pay a $350 renewal deposit
each year due on Oct. 1 to reserve and secure your campsite for the next
season. This policy is to prevent the risk of losing your campsite to another
seasonal camper that is interested in your site or is on our waiting list.

ELECTRICITY USAGE BILLING:
Seasonal tenants are responsible for electric charges that are billed in April. Your electric fee is not based on campsite meter readings. The camping season electric rate from April through October is based on total power costs for operating the campground, water wells, sewage pumps, lighting, etc. excluding transient campsites. Conserving electricity is in everyone’s best interest to reduce future rate increases.

LATE PAYMENT FEE/GRACE PERIOD:
We charge a $25 late fee each month your payment is past due. The grace period
is 10 days.

PAYMENT DUE DATES:
Lease renewal deposit and winter storage fee is due October 1. Rent balance is due April 1.

We have a NO TOLERANCE late payment policy. If your payment is over 30 days
past due, your entrance to the campground will be denied and you will be
required to remove your camper from the campsite. It must be placed in our
off-site storage area until the balance due has been paid in full. You will be
responsible for storage fees. If it becomes necessary for us to tow your camper
to storage, you will be charged.

NSF CHECK FEE:
$25 each time a check is returned unpaid by your bank.
